Grand Oaks High School Topping Off Ceremony

On February 1, 2017, Durotech held a “topping out” ceremony at the Grand Oaks High School to celebrate the last beam being placed atop the structure. Set to open in the Fall of 2018, the new high school will support 9th and 10th grade students and serve the Grand Oaks and Oak Ridge communities. In attendance were several administrators from the Conroe Independent School district, including Dr. Chris Hines, Deputy Superintendent of Operations, and Dr. Don Stockton, Superintendent of Schools. San Jacinto College Center for Industrial Technology Flag Raising

The ancient tradition of “topping out” started in Scandinavia, when neighbors joined together to build barns and homes as a group and celebrated with a common meal and prayer when the structural roof beams were all completed at their highest point. Immigrants to America continued this Tradition, which is still celebrated today in the construction industry with a flag raising and topping out cerebration. Durotech continues to honor this tradition and held a topping out celebration at the San Jacinto College Center for Industrial Technology on July 22nd, 2016 with a flag raising and topping out ceremony. The American flag will continue to wave over the San Jacinto College Center for Industrial Technology until the steel is enclosed.

Conroe PD and Court Grand Opening

On Tuesday, July 5, 2016 hundreds of police officers and citizens of the city of Conroe gathered for the grand opening of the new Conroe PD and Municipal Court building. The new facility features upgrades in technology, security, office and record space, and communication and accessibility between CPD and the Municipal Court, which share a common lobby. The court will now feature a witness stand, upgraded audio and visual tools, two jury rooms, and expanded office space.

Katy City Hall Grand Opening

On Friday, June 10, 2016 hundreds of people gathered for the grand opening of the new three-story tall Katy City Hall. The new building replaces the former city hall that consisted of four different buildings which housed all of the city staff and the city council meetings. The new structure now features three massive clocks on a tower and is designed to get back to the roots of the city's early history.
